Biden's USDA ties school lunches to gender policy

Biden's USDA Holding School Lunch Money "Hostage" To Force Transgender Policies

June 3, 2022

The Biden administration is using lunch money to hold ‘school districts hostage,’ the head of a conservative advocacy group said in response to the Department of Agriculture's announcement that it would require certain schools to allow trans students to use the bathroom of their preferred gender. Schools awarded money from the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), an agency within USDA, must specify in their policies that discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation is prohibited, the department announced in May. It also said allegations of such discrimination must be investigated.

Remember the sad old joke about "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".  Another example of the all-too-familiar process of government by bribery and extortion.  We send our tax dollars to Washington, and they turn around and refuse to use it to our benefit unless we comply with ever more arcane and distasteful regulations.  If we want to hang ourselves, why not cut out the middleman and buy the rope ourselves?  Or, perhaps we could tell Washington to take a hike, and buy the school lunches ourselves.

The agreement was reached in spring of 2022 after a two week teachers strike, and was spearheaded by Minneapolis Federation of Teachers president Greta Callahan.
